TAONUI
TAONUI (former ASMA, built by Clarc Stede 1989) Since 1992 Taonui is owned by the Canadians Tony and Coryn Gooch. Some construction details from the Taonui, such as the closed cooling system, were known to us from Clarc Stede's publications. We integrated this cooling system in the Blue Pearl.
What marvellous surprise it was, when we saw and met the very ship and owner in port Gordens Bay in November 1999 - just one day before Tony's single-handed non-stop passage to Tasmania. Tony's reports were as interesting as his ship. He and shis wife had spent a gread deal of their past years at Chile's south coast. Their adventures are to be found in their coast handbook CHILE Arica Desert to Tierra del Fuego, published by Imray Laurie Norie & Wilson Ltd., England.
